"I'm still surprised you wanted to hang out with a guy like me Chester. You seem like quite the polar opposite when it comes to me." Walking down the road with his feline friend was Ryan Cortes. The deer decided to spend today having fun instead of doing research and this allowed him to meet up with Chester.

"You're friends with Marcela and I'm friends with her. If we're both friends with her then surely we can relate somehow, right? And besides, when we all got together to do that Q and A thing you seemed like a pretty fun guy. I'm not the analytic and research type of guy you are but I know we can just talk and have fun." Chester was in 100% agreement when he heard Ryan say they were like polar opposites. Knowing that made Chester curious as he knew he could be great friends with the deer. Marcela was sorta similar to Chester and he knew that. Obviously she met the deer in school meaning it was easier for them to become friends but if she can do it then why couldn't he?

Ryan nodded his head as he remembered the Q and A very fondly. A lot of weird and unusual questions were asked but so were some pretty good and fun ones. "Sometimes I can get a little carried away with my studies but I have someone to usually remind me to have fun so I can assure you I'm not THAT boring."

"Come on bro, give yourself some credit. You're best friends with a fox. That means you're already infected with their craziness and know a thing or two about fun. Just hope you aren't as perverted as they are cause those foxes are something else!" Chester erupted with laughter as he knew just how crazy foxes could be. He was friends with a lot of foxes and knew the difference in all of them."

"How many foxes do you know Chester? And what are they like? You can give me a short summary of each if you want. Also, we're almost at the store so maybe we can buy some groceries or something."

The feline nodded his head in agreement as he started to think for a little. "Hm...well I'll go in order of who I met first. Isaac, the orange fox, is like my brother in a sense. We constantly argue and get into fights over dumb things but we both know we're joking. Just a bunch of fun and laughs. Marcos, and I believe you know him, is the only normal looking fox but looks can be deceiving. He's probably the craziest out of all the foxes I know. A real goof ball is what he is and when he isn't joking or trying to make you laugh he's probably trying to tickle you or honk your nose. But on the bright side at least he's a fun guy. Next on the list is Marcela and you already know more about her than I do. She's an interesting fox as I kinda see myself in her. She doesn't really like to lose but she also likes to tease and joke around with me. I HATE losing to her at anything as I know she won't let me live it down but damn is she hot. And finally there's Rose. You know, that.......I don't even know what colors she even is. Maybe a gray fox that's pink and red? Well she's pretty weird in a unique way. Like you can't really get mad at her as somethings she's completely unaware of but then you talk to her about something else and it's like she's the most confident vixen in the world. Either she doesn't know something at all or she's confident in what she knows."

Pulling his phone out his pocket, Ryan held it up to Chester and smiled. "Say all of that again. I might wanna record this and have them listen to this. You know, to make sure what you're saying is accurate." Ryan smirked a little as he was showing he had some jokes himself.

"The sad part is, I can't tell if you're actually joking or if you're serious about this research part. You sound so convincing!" Chester nodded his head and laughed a little as Ryan seemed like a pretty fun guy already. "See Ryan? And you were nervous about me not liking you. You're a pretty chill guy you know. Speaking of chill we're heading into the store now."

Walking over to the entrance of the store, both boys were met with a cool blast of cold air. These types of stores were always cold for who knows why and that annoyed Chester a little. Ryan on the other hand wasn't really bothered in the slightest. He came here t buy some groceries and wasn't going to let anything stop him now.

Outside of the store and not to far from it was where a German Shepherd was walking. It wasn't any German Shepherd, it was one of the Klendathus, Derek Klendathu to exact. To the surprise of many, Derek wasn't really familiar with Griffon City. In fact, he was fairly new to the city. Him and his sister decided to come into the city to settle down. However, that wasn't as simple as they thought it would be.

Looking almost exactly like Dora, Derek has had quite a bunch of citizens confuse him for her. Similar fur colors, long hair, often could be seen swimming, and a sibling who resembled Kurfust didn't help him distinguish himself from Dora. Being a sibling who looked like Dora also had some pros or cons depending on how you looked at it. A lot of males flirt with the Klendathu thinking he's Dora. Whether or not they continue to flirt once they find out he's a male is usually up for debate as he still does look like Dora. Even a lot of girls also want Derek as he's still a Klendathu after all and they have quite the charm when it comes with attention.

But one thing Derek has that none of the siblings have is his shyness. Despite his size and his build, Derek can be extremely shy at times. He isn't a canine built for attention and unlike a majority of other males, he prefers not to have an army of girls waiting to flirt with him. He's one of the non crazy Klendathu siblings and his personality doesn't hide this at all.

Today he was wondering just what would he do today? Katherine wasn't with him today so he couldn't really ask her for anything. Even if she was here, would he really want t go through with her crazy ideas? So much of this town was foreign to him and he didn't know where to go to enjoy anything. Swimming was something he enjoyed a lot of but as of now the temperature was a little to low and the wind wasn't helping in the slightest.

Part of him also wanted to head home as well due to the fact he felt like he was being watched. It wasn't the girls that were watching him. In fact, it was mostly the guys. None of them were close enough to see that Derek was a guy as from a distance he looked just like Dora. The German Shepherd tried his best not to pay them any attention as that would probably cause them to come towards him and he wanted to avoid the attention. A common question he was commonly asked was why not just cut the hair? That way he wouldn't look to much like his female counterpart and could avoid the stares. But in all honesty, Derek liked his long hair. It was something he had since he was 10 and he wasn't going to let anyone or anything make him cut his hair.

As he continued to walk he eventually made it to a local market where he saw the doors being pushed open and two friends walking out. They were a deer and a cheetah of the same exact height and the feline looked looked like someone he knew. "Chester?"

Hearing someone call his name, the cheetah turned around and blurted out the first thing that came to his mind. "Doraaaa....DEREK?! Fuck man, I can't handle these look a likes! But hey, at least it wasn't Katherine again. Oh my lord, I don't think I can go through with that again." Chester placed his hand next his heart as he took a huge breath of relief. Nothing in his life has scared him the way Katherine has.

"Dora? Katherine? Who are they?" Ryan asked looking at Chester.

"Dora is another German Shepherd I know. I heard she's a cop but she patrols around the rural areas if I remembered correctly. Katherine on the other hand is a face I can't ever forget as that was the most confusing and sweat inducing lie I ever seen! Never judge a book by its cover! It'll come back and bite you in the ass! But in other words, they're friends of mine. And this fine fellow over here is Derek. Derek, Ryan. Ryan, Derek."

Derek and Ryan shook each others' hand as they exchanged greetings with one another. Ryan was astonished to see how much taller Derek was compared to both him and Chester. Derek looked to be at least 14-18 centimeters taller than they were and that was quite shocking to say the least. "Nice to meet you Derek. So I'm guessing Katherine and Dora must be related to you in some shape or form if they're being compared to you."

"Me and Dora look just like one another from what people tell us. She's my cousin so maybe our DNA or something is very similar. And Katherine is my sister. I don't think Chester would want me to say what he saw as he reacted kinda....yeah. You don't know of Dora? Usually everyone tells me I look like her and never the other way around so you must be new to this city like I am."

"Well I've been here for quite sometime actually. I just never really travel anywhere to far but that's slowly changing. If what Chester said is true then I likely won't meet her until I go out of the city and into the rural areas."

Standing still and watching both of the newly found friends speak to each other made Chester remember that they had a lot of bags in there hand and the weight was starting to take a toll on his arms as nothing else was distracting him from it. Interrupting the conversation, Chester spoke up. "Yo Ryan, we got a lot of bags to carry and the quicker we get back to your place the better."

Being the nice guy that he was, Derek wanted to help out and hold some of the bags. "Do you guys need me to hold any of the bags? I'm not doing anything else and would love to help out."

"Only if you want to." Ryan answered. "We got things under controlled but a little help never hurts. But again, I don' want you to feel like you have to help us."

"Allow me to translate what Ryan said. I'm to nice to really answer that question but of course we need help! These bags are heavier than a baby walrus!"

Ryan chuckled a little and nodded his head. "What Chester said, but only if you want to."

Sticking his hands forward, Derek grabbed some bags from both boys' hands and was easily able to carry them. Ryan and Chester also felt things becoming much easier for them as not as much weight was pulling their arms down. "Ryan I question what were you thinking when you left out of your house. Just how would you have done this if I never ran into you?"

"To be honest, I would of only grabbed the stuff I knew I needed the most. But hey, at least we got an extra set of arms. Thanks Derek."

"It's no problem. I'm glad I could help you guys out." A smile appeared on his face as he said that.

"Well this is enough stationary chatter for one moment. How about we get going and drop these dumb bags off? Then after that we can hang out and do some guy things." Turning around, Chester realized that they were being stared at. A group of males were staring at them and a bit of chatter could be heard coming from them. "I don't recall having a bunch of males following me. Derek, what did you do? Is his another Chester on Katherine incident? Oh please don't let it be that." A blush appeared on the German Shepherd's face as the feline sighed in disappointment. "Well.....well......"

Not really understanding what was going on, Ryan finally spoke up and asked his spotted friend. "What do you mean by Chester on Katherine incident? What exactly happened?"

This time, a blush appeared on Chester's face as he found this extremely embarrassing. "Long story short, I have a friend named Kurfust that's a guy and is Dora's brother. If Derek looks like Dora then you can probably assume the same is for Katherine and Kurfust. And lets just say Katherine is a pretty sexy girl."

"Wait...so you were confused on whether or not if that was Kurfust meaning you were worried if you were having a gay moment."

"Correct."

"So that means.....oh. Derek, I think you should tell these guys that you're a guy and not a girl. Chester and I could do it but they might think we're trying to hog you for ourselves or simply would believe that we're trying to lead away from them."

Placing his face into his hands, Derek really started to blush as this was such an awkward situation to be in. "I don't know if I can do that alone. Can you guys just stick with me just in case? I doubt all the boys will be understanding about this situation and some might react...negatively."

Chester started to crack his knuckles and lick his fangs as he smirked at the shy dog. "Don't worry Derek, you're with me now and I don't let anyone harass or make fun of my friends. If any of these boys can't handle the fact that you were actually a boy then they'll have to answer to me. They'll learn how to handle the truth when I'm done with them."

"I'm not as fierce or as threatening as Chester is but I would gladly assist you in anyway how. Come on Derek, you're safe with us. We won't let anyone tell you anything or do you anything."

"Yeah, you're one of us now. And we look out for each other around these parts. Lets get going guys. Ain't no one going to do anything from us." A chuckle was heard coming from Chester as he and Ryan started to walk off. Derek followed behind the two boys and had a smile on his face. He was worried about making new friends and already he made another new friend like it was nothing. They seemed to really care for him and that filled him with happiness. Maybe he would be fine in Griffon City after all.
Just a story :icondingopatagonico: thought of not to long ago. He said Ryan and Derek could probably be great friends and then the idea of Chester being sort of a protective friend also came to mind. And that's how this story came to mind x3
